Facts about King

  • Breed: Mixed Breed (Medium) Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
King is the sole survivor of a litter of 12—his mom and 11 siblings died, shortly after childbirth on the streets of Tijuana. At a day old King was found barely alive. He was taken to a chihuahua who was nursing puppies but she rejected him. He was taken to another nursing chihuahua—Emily who is available on our site—and she took him as her own and he joined her four pups. King is now 30 pounds but up until the time they went to separate foster homes, no one seemed to notice the size difference. His ‘siblings’ Gannon, Bennet, Florence and Madeline played nonstop with him and when it was naptime or night time, they all curled up on top of him. When he needed it, Emily scolded him and he cowed just like Emily’s real puppies. King is a little slow to warm up and trust but all things considered, that is understandable. Once he trusts though, he has a very sweet nature; he thinks he is a lap dog and wants to sleep in the bed with you. He is just learning to walk on a leash but he seems to like it and I think he could even turn out to be a great jogging buddy for the right person. King had a rocky start in like and now we want to make sure he gets the best home out there. King is available through Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego. You can fill out an application at wwww.rescueachi.com to get pre-approved and then let us know how and where to contact you to set up a meet and greet.

About Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a rescue consisting of an all volunteer organization where all of our dogs are in private homes everyday. We do not have a shelter and our dogs are not kept in cages. Our dogs are from county animals shelters or from previous owners that are no longer able to care for their dog. All of our dogs are started on housebreaking, however, we do not guarantee that they will be housebroken. We offer education on how to housebreak a dog as well as other information on different situations. Every dog is spayed or neutered, current on shots, dewormed, frontline for fleas and ticks. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!!!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We often bring our dogs to the Chihuahua Meetups held at Capehart Park.
