Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Annie is a 5 1/2 year old Chinese-Shar-Pei/Lab mix. She is a rescue acquired February 2014 as a playmate for a lab 1 1/2 years younger. Annie is a good looking, sweet, lovable 40 lb. dog, full of energy and capable of jumping a 4 ft. fence. She is full of pride, spirit and always alert to what is happening around her. She is housebroken and has never had an accident even when left in the house for 6-8 hours. She prefers staying in the house with her people and is respectful of all property that is not hers. She only gets on furniture that has been designated for her and does not bother items not designated as her toys. The two dogs got along wonderfully for 2 3/4 years when Annie apparently became jealous and attacked the lab. We believe the issue is jealousy. Annie has a dominate personality and tolerates most dogs that do not bother her and does have successful outings at the dog park with certain dogs that aren't pesky. She is a great dog for a one dog family. She has had no experience with children or cats. She enjoys walks and chasing squirrels. She understands basic commands and is responsive when not distracted, she does have a will of her own. She is very patient and does not audibly ask to go out or come in, she will silently sit in the door way. She is friendly and loving to familiar people, barks at unfamiliar people in her territory. She can display an aggressive tendency at times to unfamiliar dogs and does not usually socialize with other dogs. On walks she ignores other dogs in their yards and people, however she does react to people moving suddenly in her vicinity. She kennels well when necessary. She is not bothered by rain, thunder, loud noises, fireworks or vacuums. She is calm when approached while eating, playing with toys or sleeping. She is receptive to touch on all parts of her body and loves to have her tummy rubbed. She needs a good home to provide her a safe, loving and caring environment and one with no young kids or other pets.
