My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 10-25-08: Nikki is a beautiful 8 y/o 10# yorkie - she is being fostered in Donalsonville, GA. Nikki had a vet check-up this week and her bloodwork was perfect - yeah! Foster Mom says that Nikki is a good weight @ 10#, although it was thought previously that she was chubby - so that makes her perfect just like she is! Although Nikki has diabetes and will require insulin injections 2x a day, she is very good about getting them, so that is no problem. She is a very sweet little girl who will make a wonderful companion - could that be you? PLEASE NOTE: Nikki has not been around small children, so we do not know how she will react, but a home with older children will be just fine.

INITIAL BIO 10-18-08: Meet Nikki! She is a beautiful 6 y/o 10# yorkie girlie whose owner recently passed away, and she's looking for a second home. Nikki is being fostered in Donalsonville, GA. She is currently a bit on the 'chubby' side @ 10#, and would be a much healthier weight if she was about 7#, so Foster Mom will be working on that with her. Although Nikki was previously accustomed to being the only princess in her former home, she appears to be getting along with the other dogs in the foster home. She is a very sweet and very smart little girlie. Nikki needs to learn some 'doggie etiquette' like not jumping up on people, but she hasn't been around a lot of people and pets previously, so she will learn quickly. She loves to lie in your lap and adore you.......she is also housetrained. Foster Mom said that she will go to the door and let you know when she wants to go out.

One more thing - Nikki has diabetes and is insulin dependent on 2 injections daily. She gets along well and doesn't let her diabetes bother her, and neither should a potential adopter allow this to stand in the way of adopting this precious little girlie. Foster Mom will be taking her to the vet soon to have a complete check-up.
