Cookie's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Come to the Department of Animal Services, 5821 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita 91902.

Cookie is a timid, but incredibly sweet, 8-month old spayed chocolate and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. She weighs just over 55 pounds. She arrived at the shelter with a bad case of Demodex mange, but the shelter staff continues to treat her condition and make sure she is comfortable and getting beyond it.

Cookie is looking for a loving family of her own that will keep her active and teach her all the things she needs to know to be an amazing member of the family. In her brief interaction with another young dog, she did very well and would probably benefit from having a playmate.

If you would like to meet Cookie, come to the Department of Animal Services, 5821 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita 91902. Open Tuesdays - Sundays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Mondays and holidays. For more information, visit www.sddac.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Vista Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Vista, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
