Wise beyond his years is the best way to describe this sweet old gentleman! 10 year old Blaze has always lived with a menagerie of animals, and has gotten along well with them all. But his favorite critters are the human variety.

He is such a smart fella that he soon learned to use his cuteness to get what all Labs want – FOOD! Unfortunately, he got to be a very BIG fella and developed diabetes, which ultimately led to blindness. But that hasn’t stopped Blaze. He continues to blaze his way wherever he wants to go and especially into human hearts.

This big hunk of love has now lost 40 pounds and is not only handsome, but has much more of a spring in his step. He loves, loves, loves to go for leisurely strolls where he will be happy to “smell the roses” all day long. However, he is equally as happy curling up by your side and getting lots of belly rubs.

Blaze is an easygoing, resilient, smart and very cool Dude (as his foster Mom likes to describe him). He would probably do best in a calmer home and due to his blindness, would probably not be a good fit for young children.

Blaze is looking for a wonderful place to rest his head during these Golden years. Could that be your place?

About Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a labrador retriever rescue that places labs and lab mixes in new homes. We do this because we love the lab breed and want to be sure dogs in need of a new home find the right home for them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some , but not all, of our dogs are present at events we attend throughout our coverage areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For the most part, adopters do not meet a dog until they are introduced to the dog they are matched with. This introduction takes place after they have a home visit and are matched with one of our dogs and the meeting is held at a neutral location half way between the dog and the applicant.

Our Adoption Process...

All applicants complete an application and have a home visit before being approved to adopt. Once approved to adopt, they wait to find the right dog for their family. They are required to sign a pre-adoptive agreement and keep the dog they are matched with for a 3 week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well during that period, they sign an adoption agreement and adopt the dog. The fees vary depending on the age and altered status of the dog. We do require all dogs to be altered if they are not already and require obedience training as well
