Smith's Story...

Smith is a wonderful mellow guy born on the streets of Newburgh, New York. His caretaker Madelyn fed Smith and his family on her back porch, but returned to her homeland of Brazil without him. Though she took back 8 animals with her, she couldn’t include Smith. He’s a love when time is spent getting to know him. He loves getting scratched on his head and neck, and will gently purr his appreciation. We call him a wall flower because of his gentle nature. He is very comfortable inside with his foster family, and has responded kindly to other cats and their dog. He would do best with other gentle animals or as an only pet. Smith is up to date on his vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeL, neutered and really sweet. Please complete the adoption application to be considered for adopting Smith http://www.soundearth.com/SEAdoptionForm.pdf The completed form can be mailed to PO Box 245 Fishkill NY 12524 or emailed to ann@soundearth.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smith, a Fishkill Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Fishkill, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Fishkill.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fishkill already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fishkill breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fishkill paves the way for another one to be saved.
