Adopting A Shelter Dog

These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future.  Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog.  We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.

Annabelle came to us from a shelter that was going to euthanize her to make room for other dogs. She was grace under fire and always grateful and happy. She is the type of dog that makes you feel good to be around her. She smiles that big doggy grin and her tail wags the dog. A great family dog prospect, good for anyone who wants a great companion dog. Annabelle has been to the snow and to the lake and enjoyed every minute of it. She loves hikes, creek walking, and has had great manners on the trail. She can pull a bit on the leash at first but quickly settles into a nice walk. She is not a big barker and reserves barking for things that go bump in the night. She likes other dogs but can be a bit of a bully. She finds it fun. She is best as either an only child or with a confident male.  Her heart lies with people however.
Adoption is $400.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, heart worm test, bordetella, de worming treatment and a chip.
If interested in Annabelle, please fill out an on form at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com for a meet and greet appointment. SHe is ready by the door for her closeup!

Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage

Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

About The Dog Spot Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

About Our Rescue Group...

They come from overwhelmed, overcrowded shelters, owners in crisis, neglectful situations, or simply abandoned to fend for themselves. Our mission is to eliminate the need for euthanasia, as a means of controlling the overpopulation of dogs, by spaying and neutering and by offering a place for dogs to go where they may rest, recover and be re-homed into a safe nurturing environment.
