Hello everyone, nice to meet you. My name is Nelly, a four year old pomchi, and I am a sweet and loving little lady that has had a rocky start to life, but I’m not going to let it drag me down. I feel strongly that no one should let their past define their future, and that includes me. I came to Power of the Paw with my loving family Frankie and Blondie. We were all victims of a life in a puppy mill until a loving foster parent bought us all and gave us the life of freedom that we so deserve. I will never forget that day because female dogs in puppy mills almost never get out, but I did, all thanks to the compassion of an excellent person who cared a whole lot.

Despite what I have been through, I am a very loving and gentle dog that wants nothing more than to spend my time with my people. My favorite pass times include getting petted and resting by your side on the couch. Of course I would never turn down a good car ride either. I will happily live with other dogs as I have done so for my whole life. I am ok with men and women, and I will be willing to share my house with kids too, as long as they agree to play fair and treat me gently and with kindness. I have never lived with cats, but I’m definitely willing to give it my best effort in exchange for a family of my own.

I have not spent the first portion of my life living a traditional doggy lifestyle and as a result, I am still learning how to only potty when I’m outside. Luckily, I’m a pleaser and I’m sharp as a knife, so I’m learning quickly. As for the crate- no problem for me. The one great thing about being a mill pup is that we are all accustomed to life in a small space, so it’s really not typically something that we have anxiety about.

After all that I’ve been through, I am so ready for a family of my own; one that treats me like family and gives me a lifetime of love and happiness, just like I will give them. If you think that you might be the perfect person for me, please do apply at I am looking forward to reading through the list of people that are looking for a chance to make me a part of their story. Thank you so much for reading about me and making adopted your breed of choice.

About Power of the Paw

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in November 2011 as a facebook page that shared dogs in high kill shelters and we grew into something unexpected. We now have fosters, volunteers, and supporters that have grown the rescue into something we never imagined. We are volunteer run, and we are not government funded. We run off community donations.
