Sampson loves to play with balls, toys, and ropes. He enjoys long walks and walks well on a leash. His foster mom says he is "crazy smart" and learns very quickly. He LOVES the companionship of people, playing with them, as well as napping and just hanging out.
Sampson found his way to BAARK Dog Rescue after being found as a stray, and brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control where he stayed until his time was up…….he was rescued just in the nick of time! When arriving at our Safe House, Sampson was quite ill with a severe upper respiratory infection. It took a while for him to recover, but today he’s as good as new…and ready to find a permanent loving family of his own.
Sampson would do best in a home where he could be the center of attention. He would be great as an only dog because he can be a little choosy about his dog friends and protective of his belongings but, he may also do well with a dog of similar size and energy. He would likely be too much for a senior dog. A fenced yard would be wonderful to allow Sampson to enjoy running, playing, and burning off some excess energy. He’d love the company of youngsters to play with him. Although he is a super smart boy, obedience training will help him to bond with his new family and learn to be even more fantastic than he already is!
Sampson is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventative. If you are interested in learning more about Sampson or possibly adding him to your family, please email BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.
