Sadie's Story...
We’re partnering with Best Friends Animal Society to provide a $20 adoption fee for Sadie and many more pets all month long!

Sadie the Shepherd mix gal is searching for a very special home. This forty pound lady came to us with several other dogs, who were all living in poor conditions. Now that Sadie has adjusted to the shelter environment, she's ready to meet her new family!

Sadie can be shy and careful around new people, but she comes alive when playing with other dogs! She seems very connected to one particular dog, but we think Sadie would thrive in any home where she has a playmate (or two). At five years old, she's all past the puppy stage. While Sadie appreciates play time, she's most content lounging in her bed, eating delicious treats.

We would best describe Sadie as a "wallflower." She loves to be near you, but Sadie is not one to seek out affection. Sadie's ideal home would be a patient one, as she'll need time to adjust to new surroundings. She also takes her time getting to know new people and we hope Sadie's future family is understanding of that.

Sadie has been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She did test heartworm positive, however, her treatment is included in our $80 adoption fee. We would love to see miss Sadie find a new home. To meet her, stop in today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Germantown Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
