My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE HELP THIS SENIOR LADY!

Cleo is waiting at one of the shelters we assist and needs a foster or adoptive home ASAP.

Hello everyone!

My name is Cleo. I was taken to the shelter as a stray and no one ever came to pick me up and take me home with them. It seems that no one wants me which makes me very sad. Don't get me wrong; they are very nice to me at the shelter, but I keep seeing all the younger pups leave and say they are going to their forever home, but no one ever tells me I'm getting a family of my own.

I am about 7 years old (as of 4-12-17) and weigh approximately 45 pounds. I am heartworm positive because no one ever gave me any medicine to prevent me from getting them. The shelter ladies told me that if RARE finds a home for me, they will get treatment for me and it won't cost my new family anything. I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

I am lonely and scared here. I want to have a home and a family of my own. I want someone to love me and care for me. I'm already 7 and haven't had a very good life. I hope that I am loved and cherished by someone before it is my time to cross to the Rainbow Bridge. I really like other dogs and get along great with them. So if you already have dogs, that's fine with me. I promise I'll be nice to them. The shelter staff wanted me to tell you that I am precious and am an absolute doll.

If you can foster and/or adopt me, please contact RARE today. The shelter is very full and I need to find a home as soon as possible.

**An application and home visit are required. Transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes. Please ask us for more information if you are not in Tennessee**

**All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have.**

Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
