My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This Old English Sheepdog puppy was owner surrendered to a high kill shelter. He is approx 8 months old and 40 lbs as of April 2017. He is grossly underweight. The owners said they got him from a breeder and were moving so could not take him to an apartment. It looks as of he was totally neglected and left outside his entire life. He was matted, full of burrs and debris, and his foster mom thinks he has never been groomed, brushed or even bathed. He was terrified of the clippers when she tried to shave him down and we had the vet complete his shave when he was neutered. He is in a foster home with other OES dogs and is learning how to be a playful puppy. His foster said he is like a 12 week old puppy, everything is new and a little scary but after some time its ok. He is very gentle when taking treats from her hand. He sleeps in his fosters bed every night and is like velcro everywhere she goes he is right there. He is not sure of cats and likes to chase them, but his foster says with some time and patience she feels he will be great with them. He loves toys and loves to go on walks with his buddies and ride in the car. He is a very quick learner and the fosters dogs are teaching him good puppy manners. He does like to jump on people and his foster is starting to work on correcting him and working on his house training. He is not the prettiest pup right now but when his coat grows back he is going to be just stunning and should eventually be a very healthy weight. We only adopt OES to experienced OES owners, as they need an owner that understands the breed, he also needs a buddy for companionship.

The total adoption fee of $725 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
