Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Gracie" (aka Goobers) is an approx 2-yo spayed female GSD who is sweet and calm but also playful at the right times. Gracie loves to be around her people and follows them from room to room. She is very affectionate and likes to cuddle and give kisses. Gracie came to her foster caretaker very timid, but she has made significant improvement since we rescued her in late Nov 2016. She is still a little shy of strangers initially but now warms up quickly rather than running away. Gracie does well with children of all ages.
Gracie is very friendly towards other dogs and is always ready to play.
Gracie is also friendly with cats, so we will gladly consider adopters with cats for her.
Gracie is housetrained and has free roam of the house when her people are away. However, she does have some puppy-like behaviors that still need to be worked with, including chewing on shoes, remote controls & other easily-accessible objects, and counter-surfing when food is out.
Gracie walks very well on leash and is non-reactive towards other dogs that she sees. She does well on short car rides.
Gracie loves to play in water. She is still learning to play with balls and toys independently.
Gracie is blind in her right eye (evident from the pictures here), but it does not slow her down at all. We had Gracie's eyes examined by our veterinarian after we rescued her, and she confirmed that the right eye is non-functional. However, there has been no deterioration of the eye and it does not appear to require any future medical attention.
GSRSV rescued Gracie from the Stanislaus County Shelter in Modesto on 11-22-16. She was brought to her present foster home in Rancho Cordova shortly after we pulled her from the shelter.
