Girls just want to have fun!  That's Velcro's theme song.  This adorable little kitty is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves everyone, including dogs.  She adores playing with toys and chasing toes under the covers.  She has a favorite stuffed animal toy, which she carries around with her everywhere.  She is even learning to play fetch!

Velcro, as her name implies, also loves to cuddle up and snuggle.  And she 's a master purr-er.  She has so much love to give.  She was found as a lost kitty, scared and alone.  But those days are behind her and she is one of the happiest kitties ever.

Velcro was born in January 2017.  She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.  She is a healthy, loving little girl who just needs a home of her own.

About Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for the dogs, cats, birds and other companion animals in the care of Lafayette Animal Control Center (LACC) and other animal shelters and welfare agencies in the greater Lafayette area, to end euthanasia as the primary means of population control, and to reduce the number of homeless animals at LACC.

We work directly with individuals, to help them keep their pets. We also work with them to help them rehome their pets, if that is the only choice.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are at Petco North (on La. Ave) most every Saturday, from 10:00 till 2:00. Feel free to contact us if you need to come later.
We are also available to arrange meet-n-greets with animals we've taken into foster care, during the week. Just send us an email.

Our Adoption Process...

We work with each applicant individually. We have a short adoption application. You can see it and access it on our website at, Adoption Info. We ask to do a visit to the applicant's home prior to the adoption. Our adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $150 and for cats and kittens is $75. But we often have reduced adoption fees! Please ask us if we are running a "special". We also offer reduced adoption fees for homes adopting multiple pets (for example, two kittens for the "price" of one) and for special promotions throughout the year.
