LUCY: dob: November 21, 2013....weighs a healthy 40lbs
RESCUED from an EX-hunter(yet, he'd 'just returned from a hunting trip in N. Dakota', the day I met Lucy and took her into our rescue...JERK!) in Rutherford County, NC.
Miss Lucy was bought from a breeder and kept chained to an open-ended box for 3 years prior to coming to H4S CARes. Owner 'bought her for his 5yo grand-daughter, who lost interest in her until she had a litter of puppies, which the child decided she no longer wanted Lucy, but wanted to keep one of her pups...so, they called H4S for help with the rest of the litter. We went back to rescue Lucy, when they agreed to let us take her the next day(thankfully!).
Lucy tested HW+ and has undergone treatment and is now ready for her fur-ever person/people to open their hearts & home to her & is patiently waiting for her new life to BEGIN!
Lucy is so willing to please her person and only wants a kind hand and love in return for her own UNconditional love and devotion. SWEET! SWEET! SWEET! SWEET! SWEET! SUPER SWEETHEART!!!!!!!!
Friendly, but shy of strangers/especially men's hands...obviously has been 'strong-armed', but very respectful and nary an aggressive bone in her body. Loves kids! Looking for a LOVING, RESPECTFUL family in a rural/lake or pond environment OR a LARGE, preferring a 6' stockade fenced yard to run and play in....the more room, the happier/more contented she will be! LOVES TO HUNT SQUIRRELS!!!!!! Lived under tall oak trees, so squirrels were her main focal-point while chained up to her PAST 'home'. NOT GOOD WITH CATS!(in her mind, they are the same as squirrels).
MUST be an INSIDE companion animal, and have her own soft, warm bed beside her human to sleep/rest on.
NO HUNTERS & NO 'OUTSIDE LIVING' SITUATIONS need to apply!
Adoption fee: $125(includes spay, micro-chip, all medical records from day#1 with Howlin4Spirit and vet's records, Martingale collar & leash, current health certificate & beef knee cap bone.
This rescued pup is in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC until her adoptive family/person is approved.
Transport to all points along eastern seaboard to as far N as ManchesterNH & Albany/Syracuse, NY is provided by Happy Dogs Rescued Pet Transport(licensed & bonded). Their fee is $100 to Allentown/Bethlehem PA/NYC/Long Island, and $125 to all points N of NYC as far as Albany, NY and Manchester, NH(to be paid directly to their driver upon delivery).
