Billy is a timid little guy who seems to lack experience with being in a house and probably has not been well socialized with people. He startles easily and takes a while to warm up to new people and situations. He loves the company of other dogs and really looks to the two older beagles in his foster home to show him around.
So far, Billy has not been vocal at all, but he may just take a while to find his voice.
He does well on leash walks for a scent-driven beagle, which is to say that Billy enjoys neighborhood walks, but probably won’t be a running buddy. He does potty when on lead.
Billy would love a home with patient people willing to let him come out of his shell. A fenced back yard would be an asset as Billy loves to explore and play. Another calm dog could help his adjustment. We have not cat-tested or child-tested Billy, but children aged 5 and older should be okay.
Our mission is to place older dogs in the loving homes of older people in the St Louis area. We do, however, take in dogs of all ages and adopt to people of all ages. Billy Bob has been found to have
a heart murmur and is considered a Special Needs dog and we are not asking for an adoption fee.
We just want to find him a great home..
