My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Cricket. I may only be one but I have lived through some bad stuff in that short year. I've lived in many homes and I’m really ready to just settle down and find a family that will love me forever. Are you the one that can make that happen?
I am a really good girl but because I’m only a year old I still have a lot of energy. One of my favorite things to do is play, I could play all day long, non-stop. Because I just go, go, go, my foster mom said that I need to be forced to stop and take a break. When she says it’s time to take a break I willing go into my kennel, I don’t cry or whine when I’m in there but I can get a bit territorial. If the door is closed I snarl and bark at other dogs that go near my kennel. If the door is open to my kennel I don’t mind if other dogs come and go as they please but if I’m in a time out I prefer to be left alone. It looks and sounds scary but I really just talk a big talk. In reality I’m a pretty submissive girl, I have been put in my place by a Chihuahua and I accepted that correction.
When I was at the vet clinic I was able to visit some cats, they were in a cage but I was way too interested and intense for the humans to feel comfortable with me being around them. If I was given the opportunity I would probably chase them so it would be safer for all involved for me not to live with cats.
The only time I ever went potty in the house is when I didn’t have access to the outside, I tried to hold it but just couldn’t anymore. I love having a doggie door and that way I can come and go as I please. I love being able to play outside, rain or shine I don’t mind. Kids are amazing, especially the ones that love to go outside and play with me, or stay inside and play with me… as long as they are willing to play with me. I would love to join a family that either has kids that are older than 5 or has medium or large dogs that can keep up with me. Since I love the outdoors so much it would be great to join an active family, camping, hikes and daily walks would all be amazing in my book!!
If you think that you can give me the forever home that I have been dreaming of for the last year I would love for you to visit  www.powerofthepaw.org  and complete an application. Don’t forget that I will come fully vetted. Thank you so much for reading my story and making adopted your favorite breed.
