Sweet Erin has come so far in her time with WRS! Erin came to WRS three months ago in rough shape, both physically and emotionally. Physically, Erin has gained weight and all of her wounds, bumps, and bruises have healed nicely. Erin is also getting more confident and comfortable around people every single day. She's learning that people bring good things, like treats and tummy rubs! Erin needs to be an only dog in a home. Erin would also love to be in a quiet, adult only home where there are lots and lots of stuffed toys; Erin LOVES to play with them! Erin is about 5 years old. If interested in fostering or adopting Erin, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Sweet, petite Erin is still looking for a foster or forever home! Erin is about 5-6 years old and would do best in a quiet, adult only home. She would prefer to be an only dog or with a very quiet, easy going, gentle male. Erin REALLY loves stuffed animals and would love a home that will provide her with an endless supply! If interested in fostering or adopting Erin, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Sweet little Erin, who is about 5 years old, came to WRS a few weeks ago from a Tennessee shelter. It is obvious that Erin has suffered from long term neglect, both physically and emotionally. While Erin's physical wounds have all healed, her emotional wounds are taking a little longer, but our volunteers are making progress. This shy, fearful girl is learning to trust our volunteers and enjoys the treats that they bring. She is also learning how much fun toys can be, as seen in her video on our Facebook page! Erin had a great time with her stuffed fish toy; you can even see a few wags of her nubby tail as she plays with it. WRS is looking for a quiet, adult only foster or forever home for Erin, a home where she can grow in her confidence and trust in people. If interested in helping Erin learn to love and trust, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Erin has been with WRS for just over a week and this sweet, petite little girl is starting to relax and enjoy time with our volunteers. It's very clear that her previous life was not kind to her, but she's on the road to recovery now. She's gained a few pounds already and her bumps and wounds are healing nicely. Erin will be spayed this coming week and then we can start looking for a foster or forever home for her. Erin is about 5 years old and will need a quiet, structured, adult only home to help her find her confidence. If interested in Erin, or any of our fabulous rescues, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

About Weimaraner Rescue of the South

About Our Rescue Group...

Weimaraner Rescue of the South (WRS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving Weimaraners in need in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia and placing them into loving forever homes. We have been saving Weimaraners throughout our footprint for more than 10 years.

Our priority is to rescue Weimaraners who find themselves in animal controls and high-kill shelters in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia. All Weimaraners in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical issues they might have including but not limited to heartworm disease, orthopedic concerns, and vision issues. Our efforts are funded by adoption fees and donations from "Weim-loving" people like you.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are not a shelter, therefore, we are not in one central location. We place our dogs in loving foster homes throughout the deep South so we can learn about each one enabling us to adopt them to their perfect family. Alabama hosts the majority of our rescues although we do have foster homes throughout our Southern footprint. Our dogs are not available for visitors unless an adoption application has been approved for them specifically.

Our Adoption Process...

Are you ready to adopt? Make sure you do your homework on this breed before taking this step as this is not the breed for the average household and you must be committed to their needs as well as your own. Still want to add a Weimaraner to your family? Great! Fill out a WRS Adoption Application to begin the adoption process with us. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers to begin the approval process which includes a veterinary background check, phone interview, and home visit.

ADOPTION FEES: EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2016 OUR ADOPTION FEE FOR PUPPIES 6 MONTHS AND YOUNGER IS $375 WITH A $100 REFUNDABLE SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, $300 FOR ADULT WEIMARANERS, SENIORS AND MIXED BREEDS $225. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, and Heartworm prevention. All dogs have been fully vetted and treated for any medical issues of which we are aware.
