My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This enchanting lady was found wondering the streets of Maricopa County (Arizona) back in September 2016. Fortunately she was sighted and brought to safety at the County Pound where it was discovered that she was not only emaciated, but pregnant. A village of supporters got her ready for birthing time (she was taken out of the shelter) by cleaning her up, pumping her up with proper nutrition, and providing a loving and safe environment to raise her young. She was named Lola (and responds to it today). This young gal (momma-to-be) labored 13 littles! Her struggles were many as they were all quite ill. That did not stop Lola from being the most attentive momma. With the help of many, seven of Lola’s little survived and have been adopted into loving homes. It was now finally time for this gorgeous American Bulldog to be able to finally have ‘Lola-time’, unfortunately her tough times weren’t quite over. During medical visits to prepare her for a clean start, it was discovered that she had TVT. No crying though all, as with the financial backing of Creative Contributions (CC) and the village of supporters showering her with only the best nutrition and soothing environment, Miss Lola has been treated and is now clear of cancer. With a clean bill of health, this stunningly shiny and affectionate gal is looking for a place where she can share her funness through games of fetch and show off her adorableness during sleepytime cuddles.

Lola has proven to have the intellect to go from a rougher play with human adults and other furkids instantly to tender temperament when children or puppies are added to the mix. She responds to her name as well as many commands: sit, shake-paw, gentle. Lola is easily corrected through a tug of the lead or a squirt of water. She is house trained (uses the doggie-door) and although prefers the company of others (humans/dogs), she has been caught enjoying toys when others are not around. She loves to go for rides or basically anything that involves being in the company of others. Think Lola may be the gal for you, great, please contact her foster mom (Elizabeth - Elizabeth.Olisky@gmail.com / 602.451.0671)
