MOCHA is a beautiful, gentle, somewhat reserved Siamese-type female kitty who might possibly be a snowshoe mix. She is estimated to be about 9 to 10 years old. She loves to snuggle up on human laps and is extremely grateful for human pets and attention. She has a great purr and cute chattering meows when she wants food or loving. She was abandoned and managed to survive for a time on the streets of Springfield, but she had some sort of accident that left her limp-ing for weeks. Happily she was taken in by good Samaritans, and has recovered from her injury -- although she may still limp slightly on her front foot when the weather is cold. She is an eager eater and especially likes her Meow Mix (best served as treats) and her canned food. Although she survived in the midst of many cats on the streets, it is unknown whether she actually likes the company of other cats (or how she feels about dogs). We think she would do well with gentle, calm, cat-savvy kids. This sweet girl just craves a stable forever home where she can be loved and cared for the remainder of her life.

MOCHA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $60, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in Foster care getting over a kitty cold. About West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
