Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mavis' foster Mom thinks she's about perfect. We can't believe someone never claimed her from the shelter. It was probably for the best, she was covered in fleas and her nails were horribly overgrown.
Mavis weighs 9-10 pounds and we estimate she's 7-10 years old. Mavis loves everyone she meets and is very affectionate. She seems to bark only when someone's at the door. She's potty trained in her foster home and gets along great with her doggy siblings big and small. Mavis is a true lapdog and won't let you sit down without trying to be in your lap. She's an expert cuddler.
Even though Mavis is older she doesn't act like it. She loves to run around the fenced in yard and at least once a day tries to get the other dogs to play with her.
Mavis will require regular grooming and sheds some. We are unsure of her breed, but believe she's a true mix. Whatever she is, she's 100% sweet. This little girl will fit into almost any type of household.
We'd love to find a home that likes to walk their dogs or play with them in a fenced in yard. And definitely a home that wants a loving lapdog to cuddle with on the couch and in your bed. Mavis hasn't had the easiest life, and it's her time to be spoiled and loved. She deserves it, she's simply a great dog.
Mavis is fully vetted and spayed with a rabies vaccine, DA2PPV, H3N2 flu vaccine, and Bordatella vaccine, heartworm and fecal tests, and microchip. She is kept on monthly flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative. Mavis also had a dental.
Mavis' adoption fee is $250.
The first step to adopt Mavis is to read all about adoption with Happy Tails Rescue Inc. and fill out an application. If we think your home sounds like the best fit, we'll be in touch. Click here to go to our webs site: www.happytailsrescueinc.org/adoption-available-dogs

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Munster, Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. Adoption fees range from $150-$350. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
