Since both dogs have lived together for 2 years and are bonded, it is our intention to try and find them a home together. I will update information as I find out more about them, since I have not seen them for over 2 years. Both dogs are currently in Connecticut, but will be coming to the rescue in Sebec, Maine in the near future.
LADY-LANIER is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto, heart-worm & tick disease tested NEGATIVE and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 5 September 2011 and weighs around 55 pounds. It is thought she is a German Shepherd / Cattle dog mix.
This is the information provided by her current owner:
Lady is approximately 55 pounds and is part German Shepherd and part American Cattle Dog. She is approximately 5 years old, and has high energy. She is very afraid of men, but likes women and children. It will take her time to bond with people, and will most likely bond with the woman of the house. She enjoys having her belly rubbed very much and will give you her paw when asked. She could use more obedience training, but is house trained.
ARMANI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, lepto, heart-worm & tick disease tested NEGATIVE and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 12 September 2014 and weighs around 75 pounds. He is a pure-bred German Shepherd Dog.
ARMANI, who is a pure bred young male German Shepherd. The information below was provided by his current owner:
Armani is a German Shepherd and approximately 74 pounds. He likes to chew when he is bored. If adopted, the family would benefit from having many chew toys in the house. He is house trained as well. He likes to chase small animals, such as squirrels and birds. He is an excellent watchdog and is very loving. Armani is timid around other dogs but is not vicious in any way. He is a love bug who is content to lay by your side.
LADY needs a family that is prepared to work with her on her fear of men. I do not believe she is aggressive towards men, but just avoids them. ARMANI needs mental stimulation for an adult dog to be chewing is due to boredom.
Both dogs would benefit from an active family and one that has time to work with them on basic and advanced obedience training. Working together on training will help build trust and create a stronger bond between both dogs and their humans.Road trips and walks / hikes and places where they can take in the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer is great for any dog. They need mental and physical stimulation, the more exercise and stimulation the less likely any chewing, other than with toys will occur.
If you are interested in giving these precious souls a loving, active, full-filled life and home, please go to the website and complete, then submit the adoption application. They are going to be upset, confused and miss their family so we are looking for a family that will commit to working with them and giving them everything they need.
We ask for two personal references and a vet reference and once we have been able to contact them it takes just 1-3 days to process and hopefully approve applications. Then we will work on arranging for you to meet the dogs.
