Bounce is a happy, social, loving 3 year old Pittie girl. She found herself at a local impound after she was let unsupervised with a toddler and the toddler sustained a nip/scratch. Bounce was blamed, and she was no longer wanted. Bounce is ready to put the past behind her and is facing her future with her typical happy-go-lucky attitude! She is excellent with other dogs out and about but would prefer to be your one and only canine (she gets jealous and doesn't want to share her humans) and is fine with cats. She is extremely friendly, loves people, is a champion snuggler, and loves her walks and playtime but equally loves her couch time. She is housetrained (though please expect accidents as she transitions), crates for the workday, and minds her manners as well as any young dog can. Because of the unknown circumstances of the nip on the small child, we are seeking an older child (8+) or adult home for her just as a precaution though we have seen her be absolutely nothing but a complete love. If you are looking for a snuggly, adorable companion to share your home, your couch, and your adventures, please consider Bounce. She will bring so much happiness to your life.

Requirements: Adopter must own home due to breed mix. Kids ages 8+

You can email laurahhk9@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

About Heading Home K9 Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and unwanted animals. We are a non-profit, 501(c) 3-tax exempt, no-kill dog rescue and placement organization based in Minnesota. Although our focus is primarily on rescuing dogs, we sometimes rescue cats & kittens as well. We are an independent organization and depend solely on adoption fees, fundraisers, and donations to operate. We receive NO government support. We try our best to match the dogs with the needs, wants, personalities, and lifestyles of potential adopters to ensure a healthy, happy, & permanent home. All Heading Home K-9 dogs must live indoors. Dogs are social pack animals by nature and we want them to be able to have all of the companionship, love, & attention they deserve, as well as a chance to bond with the family.

We rescue all types of dogs, ranging from small to large breeds. Roughly 40% of the dogs we rescue are purebred while the other 60% are mixed breeds. We will tell you about each dog's history, personality, & behavior, including whether or not they are good which children and other pets, their exercise needs, & other important information.

Our Adoption Process...

Did you see a dog that caught your eye? Ready to start the adoption process? Happy to help! Feel free to email the dog's listed contact with any questions you have...the dogs live in our homes with us so we know them very well.

Fosters can provide you with a preadopt application. We read through the application, check references, and once approved (we aim for 24-48 hours to approve or deny), we set up a visit with you and the foster home or direct you to an adoption event to meet the dog(s). Fosters are more than happy to answer questions that arise. We all want a good match the first time, and a successful experience for the adopter and the dog.

After meeting, you can choose to outright adopt, or do a foster to adopt, where you complete an extra form and gain a 1-2 week period to see how the dog adjusts, and if the fit between the dog and your home is right. We encourage adopters to give it a MINIMUM of 3 days. Returning a dog before that period means it never had a chance to settle in and show you what the true personality is like. Moving dogs between homes is stressful and not in the dog's best interests. We are here to support you after adoption also, answering questions and helping make the process as positive as we can. We highly recommend you read the tips in this packet (Adopting 101) before bringing your new dog home...it will help greatly ease the transition and make it a positive experience for everyone!

Most of our adoption fees are in the $300-350 range, but range from a donation in special circumstances to a higher fee for a highly adoptable, vetted, healthy puppy to help offset the losses of our hardship case dogs.

All dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, dewomed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped upon adoption. In addition, adult dogs are tested for heartworm and tick diseases. Because we provide a number of special procedures such as parvo treatments when needed, dentals, surgeries, treatment for heartworm and Lyme disease, mange, and so on we spread the cost of these special treatments among all of the dogs in our program. Minnesota state sales tax is assessed, collected, and paid on each adoption.

From time to time we’re asked “Why are your adoption fees so high?” Heading Home K9 rescue was formed to be able to help the neediest of strays... the seniors, the heartworm positive, the ones needing surgeries, and the ones often passed by with other rescues. These costs to support our mission are spread out between all dogs in the rescue so we can stay afloat. Besides medical fees, we also have to pay to feed the dogs and buy crates as needed. We work hard to make a match for appropriate adopters and have some options to work with payments by post dated check in some exceptional cases, but otherwise require an adoption fee and signed contract at time of adoption.
