Facts about Polly

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Meet Polly! Polly is a sweet and gentle Torti. She can by shy when meeting new people, but has really come around for staff and volunteers. Polly is in one of our free-roaming rooms. She enjoys hanging out in the igloo. She will probably not come out to greet you, but you can be sure she knows you're there. If you start socializing with the other cats and she seems interested, just give her a little time. She likes to play and can often be enticed by a game of chase with a wand toy. You will be greatly rewarded when Polly decides she wants to get to know you better! Polly is good with other cats, but we are not yet sure how she is with dogs or kids. Polly is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

About Delaware Humane Association

About Our Shelter...

Delaware Humane Association logo

Founded in 1957, Delaware Humane Association (DHA) is Delaware’s premiere nonprofit no kill animal care and adoption center, serving a four state area. We are committed to providing for the needs of homeless and owned dogs and cats in our community.

We rely on volunteers and donations to complete our mission and provide quality services to the community, including pet adoptions, affordable spay and neuter surgery, low cost vaccination / microchipping clinics, a pet food pantry, and more.

We make "friends for life" by connecting people with animals, and by building strong relationships to better serve our community.

We envision a day when every animal is loved, has a home, and has a "friend for life."

At DHA, we make "friends for life" by:

* Matching the right people with the right animals
* Offering a friendly, welcoming environment
* Empowering others to care for animals
* Being kind, caring and compassionate
