Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clementine is just one happy dog, she is always smiling...she has to be one of the most easy going, super nice dogs we have rescued, she is approx 3 yrs old and 33 lbs... she looks like a bassador.. bassett hound/lab mix....she has the best personality, she will sit in front of you for treats, she just blends in to any household and just makes herself at home, she is very easy going going just does her own thing, gets along with all of the other dogs, loves people, gets very excited when you come home and does jump up a little bit but soon wanders off with the other dogs, she does well on a leash she does pull a little and could do with some more leash training, she seems to be pretty well house trained, she did test positive for heart worms and has been treated with the required series of injections, we usually find that the dogs test clear in 4-6 months, she has also been started on a monthly heartworm preventative which we require all of our dogs to be on for life..
The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
