Rosie Rae's Story...
Rosie Rae is a shy girl who takes her time to warm up to new people. We think that she seems to prefer men over women, but especially loves to romp and play with you once she has gotten to know you. Her timeframe on how long it will take her to warm up to people varies from person to person. She does well with thoughtful introductions.

Rosie REALLY loves being around other dogs and would VERY much appreciate having a dog friend in her forever home. Due to her being shy and reserved, we are recommending a home without very young children.

In her foster home she has been with cats and older children and done fine with both. She is a super smart girl who picks up on things very quickly. She's a great leash walker, very smart, and adores riding in the car.

Rosie Rae takes a bit of time to warm up but everyone at the shelter who has had a chance to get to know her loves her, she's well worth the time and effort!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie Rae, a West Des Moines Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in West Des Moines, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in West Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
