Berenstain's Story...
Berenstain (like the Berenstain Bears) is about 5 months old and came to us after a landlord found him chained up after tenants moved away and left him. This boy was skinny and abandoned yet he was so sweet and loving when we rescued him. He loves everybody! He is in a foster home with other dogs and a young child and does wonderfully! Berenstain is ready for a family that will love him and care for him....make him a loved family member! This boy loves to cuddle and is playful as well. He is being fostered in West TN and will be transported once his adoption is finalized. If you'd like to add this fuzzy, adorable love to your family please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Berenstain, a Staunton Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
