My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Adoption Pending***

Leena - Female, Basset Hound/Beagle mix, 3-4 yrs.

From Leena's foster mom: "Leena is very sweet and very calm. Good on leash but doesn’t seem to like long walks. She hasn’t had an accident in the house but she doesn’t give a clear indication of when she has to go so she needs to be taken out regularly until it’s figured out. She’s initially timid with new people but warms up quickly. Her bio from Mexico says she doesn’t like her feet or ears touched but I haven’t had any trouble with either. She does not like the rain so you may have to put a leash on her to get her to go potty outside. She has these cute little spurts of ‘happy’, I call them. It’s like she’s so excited she can’t contain herself! She likes to cuddle but will go off to be on her own as well. I think she’d prefer to be the only dog. She’s okay with my dogs but tells them she likes her space. I forget that she’s blind in one eye. It doesn’t affect her other than when I accidently sneak up on her on that side. She will be a fantastic pet to anyone lucky enough to adopt her!"

Leena is a special girl as she is completely blind in one eye. An ophthalmologist specialist has confirmed that the other eye does have complete vision and both eyes are healthy.
She is still shy with people at first, but does warm up as she gets to know you. She will need a gentle adopter. She is leash trained and low energy.

*Breed is unknown as this dog has come from a shelter in Mexico. We have chosen the breeds that we believe resemble the dog the most!
