Lady's Story...
Lady, born in 2008 and weighing in at 11 lbs, lost her home when her owner passed. She was very well taken care of in her previous home, so when she came to CRSD, she was in great shape and just a delight to be around. Lady is fully house trained and does not ask for much other than a soft bed and cuddles. When she thinks no one is looking, she dives headfirst into the toy bin and all you see are little legs sticking up while she tries to decide which toy she wants! She has a sweet disposition and her favorite activities include evening walks, snuggling up to a good movie, visits to the dog park and eating apple slices. Lady is a low-maintenance dog with a clean bill of health. Additionally, Lady’s foster parents said they will gladly watch her anytime a dog sitter is needed For more info on Lady, please send in your completed application to adopt and we will follow up with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a San Diego Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
