My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a handsome guy! And he’s as nice as he is good-looking! Spikey is a 6-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who came to our care due to an upcoming move. He was a much loved pet and it’s obvious he loves being around people. Spikey can be a little reserved when first meeting strangers, but gets over it very quickly—not a mean bone in his body. He was a star at the vet, where he was examined, vaccinated, tested negative for heartworm and microchipped, and is at an ideal weight of 84 pounds. Spikey listens well, loves car rides, playing fetch and swimming, and his foster says he’s a dream on leash. He is also reported to be good with children, but would be better with older children due to his size. Spikey is great around other dogs, and also used to live with a couple of cats and a ferret. He would love to have someone home part of the day, and a family that will include him in their activities. Spikey has lots of energy, and would benefit from regular daily walks and games of fetch in a fenced backyard. An overall great dog with a nice personality and no baggage, Spikey is a happy guy who loves his people and his toys. He would be ideal for young retirees looking for a calm yet energetic adult dog to welcome into their hearts and home, or a family with older children. Interested?
