Spirit's Story...
Spirit's life started out in a commercial breeding kennel in Southwest MO. She was kept only to produce puppies strictly for her owners profit. Spirit did what she was asked up until she was no longer of any use to her greeder. Spirit is 2-3 years old, friendly with all she meets, she has already been fully vetted, can go to a home with the right male dog, and possibly a cat. Children that know and respect the Akita breed are also a possible match for Spirit. This beautiful girl has it all...please check back soon for more photos.

If you are interested in Spirit, please go to our website at: www.bigeastakitarescue.net and fill out a online adoption application. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spirit, a Toms River Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Toms River, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Toms River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toms River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toms River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toms River paves the way for another one to be saved.
