4.18.17 Buddy was surrendered by his owner because he was too nervous around her toddler. Buddy is about 9-10 years old. His eyes are clear, his hearing is good, and his skin/coat are in good shape now that we got rid of the fleas he came with. His teeth have some tartar on them, but not nearly as much as I would expect on a dog his age. Poor little fellar is a little worried right now because he doesn't understand where his mom is. He had no idea that being nervous around the baby would make them want to give him away. But here he is. Buddy is in good health and he needs someone to love him for the rest of his time on Earth, however long that may be. I think he still has several good years left. He is a sweet, affectionate little man once he knows he is safe. When I met him the first time, he was a little reserved, but never tried to bite or even growl. He allowed me to pick him up and hold him, which he seemed to really enjoy. His owner told me that she got him from a friend of hers who had him since puppyhood and had always kept him in a cage with no attention. I believe that is true but probably a bit exaggerated. He warms up to people quickly and really wants to be loved on. Once comfortable, he is very affectionate. He follows his foster mom around, at her feet all the time. Buddy needs an adult only home. He would probably do ok with older, calm kids, but they would need to be aware that he gets nervous and could potentially bite if he feels it is necessary to maintain his safety. Any kids in the home would need to be old enough to understand and respect that. Buddy is located in Arkansas and will be transported out of state once adopted. About Adopt-A-Stray - MD Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt A Stray Rescue was founded in Jan. 2010 by Kelley Prichard. We are a small group of volunteers who have big hearts for the animals in need in Arkansas and other parts of the south. We have found that the best way to find great homes for these pets is to get them seen in other states, where there are not as many homeless/unwanted pets. We use several transporters to get them wherever they need to go. Our only objective is to find quality homes for the pets in need.
