My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oso: 9-year-old male black Lab mix 90 lbs

Oh so lucky we are… to have the opportunity to provide this happy-go-lucky guy a new lease on life.

Oh so ridiculous… that his former owners took him to the local shelter to be euthanized.

Oh so wonderful… that the shelter vet said “I don’t think so” and we quickly became aware of Oso’s situation.

Oh so happy he is… now that he is hanging out with a pack of dogs being waited on paw-and-foot by his two-legged foster caretakers.

Oh so much we want… to find him a wonderful forever home… with a loving family who accepts Oso as he is…

What Oso's foster says:

Look at his face! Oso is a very gentle and sweet Lab. He is easy to get along with. When we picked him up from the shelter, we took him right to get groomed -- the groomers fell in love with him; he smiled and wagged his tail the whole time they were grooming him...and this is after he came straight from the shelter. He adapted to our home routine right away; he gets along with our three labs, but definitely relates to his human companions more. Oso soaks up love and attention like a sponge. He cries with joy and wags his tail when we come home! At this point, we think Oso would thrive with a person or family who would not leave him home alone all day and give him the love and attention he needs.

What Oso’s Rescue Rep says:

Oso is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccinations. He likely has some arthritis in his backs legs and/or hips… seems he favors his rear left leg a bit… and he just starting taking a pain/anti-inflammatory med.

Oso is located in Fairfield.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
