My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All hail the queen! That's right, when you are the eldest lady of the OMD adoptable pack at 12 years young, you earn the title and our regal Anya holds that honor. Dumped at a high kill shelter by her previous owners simply for being too old, Anya contracted kennel cough before coming into rescued and being transferred to our veterinary clinic. Once there, our medical team found that in addition to desperately needing a dental, Anya required the removal of multiple mammary tumors, medicated baths for a skin infection and treatment for severe infections that likely aided in her being deaf. Anya spent more than three weeks recovering at the vet. Once with her amazing foster parents, we quickly learned that while our Beagle/Cocker Spaniel/Pug is still spry, Anya enjoys what many retirees relish...a calm, quiet home where she can nap on a comfy bed and lounge outside in the sun as she pleases. She also loves watching the world outside the window and thinks strolls around the yard are a lovely way to spend the day. Young, playful, smaller pups are too much for Anya and bring out her referee side (perhaps her job in her former life) but another even-tempered dog her size or larger would be just fine. Calm, dog-savvy kiddos are also welcome and she has proven to be good with cats. Our 21lb. girl is perfectly housebroken and will go to the door if she needs to go out. would love a home with a doting dad who loves to cuddle (watching sports on the couch sounds good), as men are her favorite and a family who would happily provide steps up to the bed for naps and bedtime would be her first choice. If your palace is fit for our queen, please complete an application at omdrescue.org.
