PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

4.18.17 Teddy is a sweet heart who's owner died and the family didn't want him. :( He is a senior, we are guessing he is about 9 years old. He weighs about 10lbs. He is in good health except he needs his teeth professionally cleaned. We have had him neutered and he is up to date on shots and heartworm negative. Teddy is friendly and seems to get along with everyone. He would do best in a home without very young children but would probably be fine with older kids who understand to be gentle and calm around him. He really just wants a lap to sit in and someone to be a companion to. He is working on house training using a doggy door and doing ok with it (he was an outside dog in his previous home.). But he will need some more guidance and direction coming into a new home with new smells and a new routine. He can learn though and he is very eager to make his people happy. Teddy still has a lot of good years left and he deserves to spend that time with someone loving him. He is located in Arkansas but can be transported out of state once adopted. For more info, email

About Adopt-A-Stray - MA

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt-A-Stray Rescue was founded in Jan. 2010 by Kelley Prichard. Kelley saw a need for the unwanted pets at the local Animal Control to be given a chance at life. Adopt-A-Stray is a non profit (pending) Rescue group. We routinely pull dogs (and sometimes cats) from the euthanasia list at our local kill shelter. We also take in strays and owner surrenders as space/resources permit. Most of our available pets are located in ARkansas and are transported to the northeast once they are adopted or have a foster home to go to. The transporters we use most often are Got Orphans Transport ( and Alpha Dog Transport ( All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations and are seen by our vet prior to going to their new homes. Please email for more info on our adoption procedures.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Call for an appointment. Since we dont have a physical shelter, it is important that you call or email before trying to meet the pets. We have most of them in foster homes, some here in Arkansas and some in the Northeast.

Our Adoption Process...

I required that all pets in the home are current on veterinary care - this includes vaccinations and heartworm prevention, minimum.
I require that every pet in the home (ok, maybe not fish and reptiles) be spayed/neutered unless there is a valid medical reason not to.
I have an adoption application and contract for each pet.
My adoption fee varies, depending on what type of pet, breed, age, and medical condition.
