PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

4/18/17 Tyson is an awesome young man who will make some family very happy! He was surrendered to rescue when his owner had to move unexpectedly. We have had him neutered and brought up to date on shots, and he tested negative for heartworms. Tyson is very sweet and friendly. He loves car rides. He would be fine with kids but may need some training to learn to be gentle around them. He has no idea how big he is and could easily knock over a little one. He weighs 95lbs and is still growing, as he is only 10months old. He gets along great with all of the other dogs in his foster home and has learned to crate up when told. He has not had accidents in the house, but is not in the house very much unless he is in his crate. So I would say he is mostly crate trained but may need some additional guidance when coming to a new home. Tyson is ready for his new home now. He is located in Arkansas and will be transported out of state once adopted. His adoption fee is $500 and the transport fee is $140. His fee is more because we had to pay much more for his vetting, due to his size. That is typical with giant breeds. Everything costs more for them. For more info, email

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $300, and for older puppies and adults, the typical fee is $250. This includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (as well as treatment if they test positive) for all pups/dogs over 6 months old. There is a transport fee of $140 per dog. We use Got Orphans Transport, and you can see more about them at

About Adopt-A-Stray - VT

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporters we use most often are Got Orphans Transport ( and Alpha Dog ( pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
