Winter's Story...
Winter is available! Winter is an 8 month old pitty puppy who weighs in the 40-50 lb range. She came to RCHS with terrible mange and infected skin. She is doing much better now but still working on growing back all of her hair. Winter has been well socialized with cats, pet rabbits and other dogs. She has spent some time around kids and done well with them as well. She is good with all people but sometimes needs a couple of minutes and a few kind words to warm up. This may be especially true with transition. Winter is an awkward sort of pup who doesn't always read social cues correctly from other dogs, but she is learning. She bonds hard to other dogs in her home and will mimic their behaviors. We want to see her go home to a home that has a medium or large breed dog in it that would want to play with her. Winter loves swimming and playing with toys and other dogs. She does just great in the car. She would be happiest in a home with a yard and may be too loud for an apartment (her canine foster brother taught her howling is pretty fun). Winter is potty and crate trained. If you are looking for a petite pitty girl who still needs to do some growing up, Winter may be the gal for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winter, a Manhattan Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
