About Pets In Need - Redwood City Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are Northern California's first No Kill dog and cat rescue and adoption shelter. For almost 51 years we have been visiting public facilities where we pull dogs and cats who are in danger of being killed. We bring them back to our shelter where they get all the medical care they require, are brought current on their vaccinations appropriate to age, are spayed or neutered and microchipped, and then receive a healthy diet and lots of love and attention while they wait for a new, forever home. We do this because killing adoptable dogs and cats is wrong! There are enough homes!!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Sunday from noon to 5 PM. We also are out in the community with our adoptable dogs and cats on the weekends, and you can call the shelter to find out where.

Our Adoption Process...

We have potential adopters complete a MatchMaker Profile so we can help them find the best dog or cat to fit their lifestyles. Once completed, they meet with potential new furry friends. Once they have found their match, the adopter completes an adoption contract. We also give them all the medical information we have found, all treatment and vaccination records, microchip registration information, and all behavioral information we have learned while the dog or cat has been our shelter guest. For dog adoptions, we do require that all people residing in the home and any dogs who live in the home come in for a meet and greet. We want to make sure that it is a good fit for everyone, furry and not!
