Opera's Story...

Opera is 4 years old and weighs 7 lbs. This little lady came to us from a shelter on the Texas-Mexico border. Opera was found as a stray, so we don't know anything about her life before coming to us. From what we can tell, her past may have been scary. Opera is nervous with people and needs someone to spend lots of time helping her learn to trust them. She has never once tried to bite anyone but will run away if she is scared. Opera is looking for a quieter household and someone who has the patience to give her time to come out of her shell. She should go to a home with no small children.

If you would like to adopt Opera, please fill out an application at Her adoption fee, including vetting paperwork and microchip registration to adopter, is $200.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in San Antonio, Texas. All of our adoptable dogs are located in the San Antonio area. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opera, a San Antonio Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
