Fritz (Neutered)'s Story...
"Fritz" is a sweet 3-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on April 19, 2017 after he was found on County House Lane not far from our shelter.

This handsome guy has a black-and-white short smooth coat, a long black tail, and an adorable face with a wide black stripe on the right-hand- side of his nose/muzzle. "Fritz" has a calm, quiet disposition and is extremely friendly. He loved being petted while he had his Petfinder/Facebook photos taken.

"Fritz" was given vaccinations, wormer, and Revolution flea treatment on April 19, 2017. He weighs approximately 8 lbs.

"Fritz" appeared to have an injury to one of his hind legs/paws, so we will be keeping a close eye on him and make sure he receives medical attention if needed.

UPDATE: "Fritz" was examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians on April 20, 2017 and x-rays showed that he had a fractured pelvis :( "Fritz" has been prescribed bed/cage rest for two weeks, so he is being given extra TLC while he recuperates.

Fritz was neutered on June 7, 2017 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 9.9 lbs. on that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fritz (Neutered), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
