We met Nokomis at our local shelter with her little family.
"She’s just a baby herself and surprisingly motherly for such a young mother. We initially thought she was anti-social but she has turned out to be a real sweetheart. She’s SUCH a good mother to her 3 newborn kittens that even though she was starving when she arrived, she wouldn’t even get up to eat herself. Rather, she laid down and wouldn’t move a muscle to allow her babies to keep eating. One of our staff hand-fed her practically a whole can of wet food while she continued to lay nursing her babies.
"Nokomis is such a doll we’re hoping someone will scoop up this gorgeous (and young) black kitty to foster or rescue. She is fully foster-checked and FIV/FeLV negative. Her babies are, as stated, very new, but Luna is such a great mother this would be a good first time foster for someone wanting to take on a nursing mom."
Please consider adding this lovely girl to your family! She is still raising her little family, but she'll be ready to go to her new home in June and we're taking applications now! :)
