Facts about Barty

  • Breed: Greyhound
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Barty is from the same litter as former fosters Gogo and Lolo. He's reserved at first, and then quickly warms up and is a big goofball (just like his sisters). He's very interactive, thriving on playing with squeaky toys and bouncing around with kids (aged 6 and older). He's also a classic klepto, you have been warned!

Given his foster home environment, we believe that he will do best in a home with kids who will endlessly dote on him, and a friendly canine companion, as he may have some separation anxiety.

About Greyhound Gang of Florida

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all-volunteer group, taking in retired racing greyhounds from the track, from kennels, and shelters. We educate the public on what wonderful pets these dogs make. We do this because of our love for the breed and they deserve the chance at a life in a loving home as a pet.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show available greyhounds at "meet & greets" every Saturday at area pet stores. On Facebook we post which dogs will be out, and where. Our website calendar also advises the timeframe and location.

Our Adoption Process...

When an application is submitted we do a vet check on pets currently in the home, verify home ownership or get landlord approval if renting.
Upon approval of the application, we take the selected greyhound on a home visit to educate and answer questions, and to ensure a safe home environment would be provided.
If all okay, then the adoption proceeds. We have a contract and the adoption fee is $250, and is reduced for a senior dog.
