My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeus is about 2 years old and is a 62 lb male Lab mix. On April 22nd Zeus was placed on a transport from Southern Indiana and headed to Illinois, which is when we began fostering him. What we can tell you after a couple of days is that Zeus is a great looking dog who is a very loyal, lovable dog and has a big heart. He just loves being around people and close to where you are. He is always appears happy and is quickly adjusting to his new life.
His first couple of days were absolutely great. Zeus is learning the routine where first thing in the morning we get up, go outside and go to the bathroom, then come inside and eat breakfast. We are teaching him some manners and have Zeus sit before we feed him, although he already knew how to. Zeus would do great in a home with another dog and loves to play or would be fine by himself. We have a 65 lb German Shepherd mix of our own and the two dogs get along wonderfully. Zeus is learning that toys are fun and loves chewing on the nylabone, rubber bone and playing ball. He has shown no aggression with food or treats. We feed both dogs together and they share a water bowl and we've had no problems to date. We've been on a couple of walks and Zeus needs a little work. Be the end of our first walk however he was already getting better. He just needs someone to show him what's expected.
Zeus is crate trained and stays in there during the day if we are at work. At night he's already graduated to sleeping on our bedroom floor or in his dog bed. He's doing very well. Zeus has not had an accident in our house and appears to be potty trained but as with all new dogs we keep an eye on him and make sure he is let outside and gets into that routine we are looking for. He did try to mark once but was caught before he could lift his leg. All Zeus wants is to be loved, played with, and given some attention. Zeus has settled in and is enjoying laying on the couch with you.
I would say Zeus medium level of energy and would do great in just about any type of home. Zeus enjoys the outdoors and roaming around our fenced in backyard. It would do Zeus some good to have someone that is willing to take him on walks and get him some exercise. This handsome guy deserves a forever home and would make a great addition to your family. Zeus is up to date on all his vaccinations and has been neutered. For more information contact Mark or Karla at 630-881-8286 or e-mail us at msr1015@yahoo.com. His adoption fee is $200.
