Meet Mya!
Mya is an approximately 10-month-old pit bull mix who weighs around 40 lbs. She was found after being hit by a car, and as a result of the accident, had to have one of her legs amputated. Don't feel bad for her though, Mya gets around great, and is loving life now!

She loves nothing more than to play with toys, play with her dog friends, go for walks, and get pets and cuddles from her humans. Mya is potty trained, and she does great in a crate. She loves other dogs, and although she has never met a cat, her foster dad thinks she would be fine with them (if you have a cat, she would be cat tested prior to adoption). Mya is a little shy of new people, but once you give her some treats, she warms up very quickly. She also LOVES kids. Mya would be a great fit for almost anyone! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, playful addition to your family, Mya is your girl.

Mya's adoption fee is $300 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mya, a West Allis Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in West Allis, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in West Allis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Allis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Allis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Allis paves the way for another one to be saved.
