My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucky is an 8.5 year old Maltese. We don't crate or kennel our resident pups, we have them in big, open rooms so it's more of a home feeling for them. Even with this environment, Lucky walked in tight, crazed circles, crying continually. We found out he had been kept in a laundry room for up to 17 hours a day! Walking in a tight circle was probably about all the room he had. Of course he cried!
One of our volunteers took him home to foster him and give him one-on-one attention. By the next day, the constant crying and whimpering had stopped. The circling had stopped. Lucky blossomed. You wouldn't even recognize him as the same dog. He's so easygoing and such a happy guy. Now we must admit, he does still do some circles but now they're pure delight circles! The volunteer says when she gets home, Lucky comes tearing up to her, does a couple of happy circles, runs back to the living room, does a couple more yippee circles, comes racing back to her and there's no doubt in her mind - he's glad she's home and she and her husband laugh with joy too.
The fosters have a cat and they get along great. Lucky never had a problem with her but it took her a few days to decide it was okay if he stayed. Now when he goes outside for his walk, she waits at the front door. After his halter comes off, he goes over and gives her an Eskimo kiss.
Undoubtedly because Lucky didn't get exercise, he's a wee bit chunky so he's on a diet (and he doesn't much like it - ha). He's just come back from the Dentist. The previous people didn't take care of his teeth so he had to have 5 extractions but he now has a beautiful, pearly white smile. He's a healthy boy with a heart of gold. If you have a heart of gold too, and you're a person who believes this boy deserves a life of love and attention, please fill out an online application.
