Facts about Dixie

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Dixie and her sister Toby are the last of Alli Kat's babies looking for their Purrrfect home. They're in a foster home with Danny Boy who were also born to a different mama the same day.

If you are interested in one of these sweet babies the adoption process is as follows:
Adoption Application (can be downloaded here: )
Brief Phone interview
Meet and greet to pick out your kitten (we ask for a deposit of at least $25 to hold the kitten you choose)
Then on or after May 4th you can pick your kitten up and pay any remaining balance of the adoption fee.

Kittens/cats do better in pairs, why?
Simple, When they’re well-matched, it’s good for cats to have companionship. Two cats can play together, satisfying their need for physical and emotional interaction. According to the Humane Society, multi-cat household felines tend to be happier and less likely to get in trouble. They can also groom each other, keeping clean the places one cat can’t reach alone.

Our adoption fee is $50, including spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip. We have a Buy One Get half price special on kittens/cats, so if you adopt one, you get the second kitten for a fee of $25 more. With the special, you get two kittens for $75. If you're only interested in one kitten, that's fine, too. We spay/neuter at 4 months/4 pounds, so you can take the kitten home May 4th, but it's a provisional adoption. You can get a free spay/neuter at Clay Humane Society once they're old enough, and then the adoption is finalized.

About Florida Urgent Rescue Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to dramatically improve the lives of shelter and rescue animals, to assist in urgent rescue situations and to implement resources to help in the aid of these animals. We rescue from death row at high kill shelters and help them have happy lives in their furever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please note: We are not a shelter. We do not have a kennel or facility that you can visit and see all the Animals. Each Animal is fostered in an individual home. So, you cannot come visit our animals until you have gone through the application and brief phone interview process and then we will schedule a meet and greet with the animal and their foster parents. Then the next step would be a 1 week sleepover, so before finalizing we can all make sure it's a perfect fit. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time, we do not have set "hours" and we answer all calls and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you so much for your interest in our FUR Babies!

Our Adoption Process...

We require a written application, references and a home check prior to adoption. If you're interested in a foster-to-adopt, we are very flexible.
