Ellyn's Story...
AVAILABLE 02-26-17 On 02-23-17 Ellyn was brought to the Shelter by a lady who found her, but wasn't able to have a cat. Ellyn is a 7 month old Torbie cat (part Tabby, part Tortoiseshell) with really pretty markings. This sweet kitty begins purring as soon as anyone approaches her. She loves to be petted and once she gets some petting, she'll settle onto your a lap for a bit. Ellyn has done well with other Shelter cats and she loves people. She's now spayed and her shots are current. Please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City, Ellyn would love to meet you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellyn, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
