My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Big Boy Diesel is a Gentle Giant

5-year old, male, large, black and blonde, German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: Yes
Good with children: Unknown
Good with cats: Unknown

Diesel is such a big boy. When he gains a little more weight, he’ll be close to 100 pounds. This sweet guy
has got legs for days! And he’s such a handsome boy too. But don’t worry, he’s a gentle giant.

Diesel came to us as an owner surrender and he is a bit underweight. So, we’re working on a quality diet
for this guy so he can reach his full potential. Diesel lived in a home with several small dogs, so we know
he’s good with other dogs. We also know he’s as sweet as pie and walks wonderfully on a leash.

He’s been out in the yard playing with the other dogs and having a great time. And he’s already become
a volunteer favorite with his super sweet disposition and intelligence. He loves attention and is a joy to
walk and play with. This guy learns quickly and aims to please. A better family pet you won’t find!

Like we mentioned, Diesel is a big boy, so he might be best in a home with older children, just so he
doesn’t accidentally knock them over. But he’s very graceful and patient too. Diesel will need to
continue his training and his new family will need to commit to exercise and mental stimulation for this
big boy so he can live a happy and fulfilled life.

If you’d like to meet Diesel, please fill out our
online application
 to get the approval process
started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members
are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and
full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up
to 5 days to process an application.
