My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 67 lbs
Variety: Bench

Ruby is definitely a gem. This big, goofy girl is young but fairly mellow for her age. She loves belly rubs and giving kisses. She knows basic commands, and she enjoys running to fetch a ball. She's even good at releasing the ball so you can throw it again.

Ruby is housetrained and has free rein of the house when her foster family is away. She lives with a canine foster brother, and she does well with both the dog and the twelve-year-old human boy in the home. Ruby walks well on a leash and has good recall when she is off leash. She is food motivated and takes treats gently. Outside, Ruby is prey driven and likes to chase squirrels and rabbits. She has also shown that she would chase cats if given the chance, so her adoptive home should be cat free.

We suspect that Ruby may be mixed with another breed, but as her foster dad says, "She is such a good-looking dog, so whatever she is mixed with blended well with Springers. She does have a big head, but aside from the larger head and overall size, she is all Springer. She has been an easy keeper, with no accidents, chewing, or counter surfing. The previous owner did an awfully good job training her."

This young, sweet girl is looking for just the right Forever Family to love. If you think that might be your family, please contact her case managers right away.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Ruby.
