My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buster, oh sweet Buster! He is a big teddy bear waiting for someone to love him. He is nine years old and 84 lbs. Buster is an owner turn-in due to divorce. Earlier in Buster's life he was allowed in the house, but after the divorce he lived in the backyard with a small dog. He is now so happy to be around people and likes to stick near us. In his foster home he has three canine siblings that he gets along well with. I don't know how he interacts with cats. His previous owner states that he enjoys being around children. While we do not have a pool, I suspect he is a water dog. He immediately climbed into our empty pond and likes to push his way into our showers. Buster will need some assistance with proper walking on the leash but he does know the command for sit. We have yet to hear Buster bark: even when our dogs all start barking, he remains quiet. And give him a stuffed animal and he will happily carry it around without chewing it! Shortly after coming into our care, Buster had abdominal surgery to remove a dog rope toy that he ingested prior to coming to DLRR. He is back with us, his foster family, and doing well! He LOVES to eat and will scrounge for food. I don't think he is capable of putting his paws on the counter but I wouldn't put anything past him! He enjoys helping me water my pots so that he can get wet and drink from the hose. Buster is ready for his furever home and just wants to have a human to call his own!
